Get Involved! Be a Part of Something Larger

Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved – especially before a disaster occurs. Community leaders agree the formula for ensuring a safer homeland consists of trained volunteers and informed individuals taking action to increase the support of emergency response agencies during disasters.

You can train and volunteer with FEMA’s individual and community preparedness programs: Citizen Corps, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), America’s PrepareAthon, and Youth Preparedness.

There are also local Red Cross chapters, volunteer fire departments (Fire Corps), and Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (Ohio VOAD).

By getting involved, you help make a difference.
